THIS IS NOT A MAGIC TREE

Art Installation — Living oak tree, recycled pill bottles, sisal twine
Design: George Krump  //  Production: G. Krump & E. Caza-Krump

Why hang pill bottles from a tree? To surprise passers-by, to slow people down for a moment.

Yes, medicines are important for health and healing, but let’s not forget that our trees also play an important role in prevention by giving us a healthier living environment: oxygen, shade, habitat for birds and so on.

It’s not magic, but the effect in the eyes of people that is magical. That’s what this art project is all about: putting a little enchantment where you least expect it.

If you like this tree, take a photo of it. Or take a photo of yourself with it and send it to us: photo@art.georgekrump.ca.

And we encourage you to surprise us in turn! By doing the same in your tree… or by doing something different. And send us your photo!

This project is a private initiative produced for the Culture Days 2023 in conjunction with the group exhibition Enchantement that you can visit at Salle Alfred-Langevin (10, King Street, Huntingdon), from 29 September to 29 October. https://mrchsl.com/services/culture/salle-culturelle-alfred-langevin
